Dalpha CEO Kim Do-gyun: "AI solutions completed in two weeks… 150 companies secured in two years"

Combining AI blocks for customized services
"Aiming for No. 1 in the B2B AI market this year"

Since OpenAI's AI chatbot 'ChatGPT' emerged, many companies have rushed to adopt AI. But the reality is that a great many struggle to find ways to improve work efficiency with AI. This is largely because most have not secured enough relevant data and are unskilled at using AI models effectively. Dalpha is a startup that helps such clients with their AI transformation. In less than two years since its founding, it has delivered more than 250 paid AI solutions to 150 companies—a rare achievement in Korea.

Dalpha CEO Kim Do-gyun (pictured) explained the secret: "We quickly provide a demo version of the AI solution the client wants, at a low cost." Dalpha builds the service a client wants within two weeks—faster than traditional systems integration (SI) firms, which take more than six months to develop IT solutions. Clients satisfied with Dalpha's deliverables can continue using the solution through a monthly subscription-based cloud (SaaS) model. Kim, who founded Dalpha in 2023, graduated from Seoul Science High School and majored in mathematics and computer engineering at Seoul National University.

Dalpha sped up its AI solution development with the development tool 'Cobra.' Cobra consists of more than 100 AI modules. Like assembling Lego blocks, it combines the necessary modules according to a client's request to develop an AI solution. The secret to its speed is using ready-made AI products. Kim explained, "I thought of AI projects like solving a math problem—combining various formulas."

Dalpha's clients range widely, from startups to large corporations. KT Commerce, which supplies various office products to its clients, uses Dalpha's AI-based integrated purchasing service. Dalpha's AI solution now handles the task of classifying vast amounts of product data one by one. The item Kim first envisioned was an AI data business. He said, "The idea of creating a market to buy and sell AI-related data myself led to the current business item."

Dalpha did not succeed at attracting customers from the start. Kim said, "Including myself, our employees sent more than 300 company promotional emails a day, and we even went to all sorts of events unrelated to AI to hand out business cards." As clients who tried the service once spread the word, the number of clients surged. Kim emphasized, "Within this year, we will become the No. 1 company in Korea's B2B (business-to-business) AI solutions industry."
