[We Are the Leaders of AX] <56> Dalpha, Helping Every Company 'Hire' AI Agents

Business AI startup Dalpha is opening a new chapter in work automation with custom AI agents.

Founded in January 2023, Dalpha provides enterprise-tailored AI solutions as software-as-a-service (SaaS). To date, it has carried out more than 300 custom AI agent projects, and it aims to reach a cumulative 400 projects by the end of this year.

Dalpha's core business model is the 'AI Agent Studio.' Rather than simply supplying automation solutions, it analyzes a company's work processes, custom-designs the AI they need, and then provides it on a subscription basis. What sets it apart is helping companies adopt AI quickly, just as if they were 'hiring' it like a person.

Use cases with companies such as KT Commerce and Dingo are representative examples. For commerce companies, the AI handles tasks like automatically classifying product categories, and for content companies, it automatically edits short-form videos and generates subtitles. In the early stage of adoption, corporate clients can quickly build and test a demo using their internal data before deciding whether to subscribe.

In particular, Dalpha's core strength lies in making AI solutions easy to use even for non-developers across a wide range of industries. The heart of this is its internal system, 'Cobra.' Built on Dalpha's own research and project experience, it's an internal toolkit that lets you assemble various AI models like Lego blocks. As it has run more projects, the toolkit itself has continually improved, and the speed of building solutions keeps getting faster.

Dalpha's cumulative investment stands at about 13.3 billion won, with Primer Sazze Partners and Mirae Asset Venture Investment among its main investors. Starting this month, the company plans to knock in earnest on the door of the U.S. market, and it is running pilot projects with American companies. Its goal is to secure early customers in the commerce and marketing sectors, where demand for AI automation solutions is high.

〈Interview〉 Kim Do-gyun, CEO of Dalpha: "Leading the way so 'AI employees' work at every company"

Kim Do-gyun, CEO of Dalpha, said, "There are many companies that want to adopt AI but lack the manpower and capabilities," adding, "Dalpha will provide them with the most efficient, tailored AI agents to boost their work efficiency."

CEO Kim founded Dalpha based on his experience as a tech lead at an AI startup. He said, "No matter how outstanding the underlying AI technology is, it's still very difficult for companies to apply it directly," adding, "Our advantage is taking well-trained existing AI models, refining them, and optimizing them so each company can use them easily for its own situation."

He added that, compared with on-premises (build-it-yourself) deployments, these AI solutions are easier to adopt and reasonably priced, working in a structure where an 'AI employee (agent)' does the work in return for a subscription fee. A key feature is that the AI's performance keeps improving over the period of use.

CEO Kim emphasized, "Thanks to the experience accumulated over about two years across more than 150 client companies and 200–300 projects, we can rapidly build enterprise-tailored AI and onboard it like an internal team member," and "AI, too, needs to be continually developed after its initial adoption to raise its performance and accuracy."

CEO Kim first set the goal of being 'the clear No. 1 in Korea's AI agent market.' He shared his ambition, saying, "Beyond that, within one to two years I want to establish us as a global AI automation solutions company."
