Dalpha, an AI agent studio, announced on the 8th that it has completed the on-site rollout of the 'AI Smart Estimate Program' co-developed with Dongwon Construction & Industry.

The AI Smart Estimate Program Dalpha supplied works by analyzing past estimates for similar projects and public unit-price data when a blank bill of quantities used in the construction-bidding process is entered, recommending unit prices for key line items. Users can quickly write an estimate by choosing the appropriate price among the candidates presented.

An estimate that previously required an average of 4 people working 8 hours can now be completed in 2 hours after adopting the program, achieving roughly a 75% time savings.

Dongwon Construction & Industry had long seen it as a challenge that estimation criteria varied by person and that key know-how was scattered across files, making integrated management difficult. Through this project, the company explains, it standardized its estimate-writing criteria into an AI-based pipeline, laying a foundation to systematically integrate and standardize accumulated expert experience.

Lee Jun-bok, a Dalpha AI consultant, said, 'We were able to deliver meaningful results by supplying a solution embedded in real work to the construction industry, which had been seen as barren ground for AI,' adding, 'It's the fruit of focusing on the bottlenecks in their way of working and repeatedly experimenting and trying internally to solve them.'
