Dalpha Provides AI Search Solution to Kurly… Solving the 'No-Result Search' Problem
- Cart conversion rate improved 10% through the application of an AI semantic search model
- Cost savings and faster customization compared to global search solutions
Dalpha, the AI agent studio, announced on the 15th that it had resolved the 'no-result search' problem by providing an AI search solution to the e-commerce platform Kurly.
Previously, Kurly had been struggling with a problem in its product search process where user queries failed to match the product database accurately due to typos, missing synonyms, and various natural-language expressions. This led to search failures and was cited as a major cause of purchase drop-off.
To address these challenges, Dalpha designed and provided a semantic search model that precisely analyzes the meaning of search terms and suggests appropriate products. The model is an AI-based search engine specialized in handling natural language, typos, and unstructured queries.
To validate the effectiveness of the new search AI, the two companies conducted an A/B test comparing Kurly's existing search system with Dalpha's model. As a result, the group that applied Dalpha's search AI saw its cart conversion rate rise by about 10%, and improving search quality alone—without any separate promotions—produced a tangible boost in sales.
In terms of cost as well, Dalpha's solution demonstrated the strength of achieving better search quality and lower operating costs at the same time, with lower adoption and operating costs than the previously built search system and the ability to customize quickly.
A Kurly representative said, "Our AI search collaboration with Dalpha was a positive result that delivered both cost savings and increased sales," adding, "We confirmed that search can go beyond simple UX to directly drive real business outcomes."
Park Hyo-yeon, lead of Dalpha's commerce team, said, "This collaboration is a representative case in which AI technology produced concrete results based on real customer behavior data," adding, "It was a project that once again proved that in an e-commerce environment like Kurly's, where the search experience is central, sophisticated search quality directly translates into conversion rates."
Dalpha builds and provides custom AI agents for enterprise clients, and is expanding its AI-consulting-centered B2B business across a range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, education, and content.
