Dalpha: Innovating AX
Hello,
I'm Park Yong-chan, Dalpha's BD/Sales Manager.
It occurred to me that we haven't shared Dalpha's story in detail before,
so I've decided to write this short piece.
In this post, I'd like to share the direction Dalpha intends to take in the AI market.
Dalpha's Mission (WHY)
As of 2023, humanity is entering an era of great AI transformation. As open-source AI like ChatGPT and LLaMA continues to be released, public interest in AI is rising rapidly.
On top of that, new solutions built on these open-source models keep emerging as well.
However, the barrier to entry for AI is still very high.
Everyone recognizes that AI is fascinating and useful, but the proportion of people actually using it is remarkably low.
Apart from a handful of large corporations, small and medium-sized businesses are interested in AI but, due to cost and technical limitations, are unable to use it efficiently in their business.
If even companies aren't actively using AI, can individuals make good use of it? Most individuals still don't really know how to apply AI in their everyday lives.
Dalpha will innovate AX (AI Experience).
Dalpha's mission is to innovate AX (AI Experience).
We aim to lower the barrier to entry for AI mentioned above through Dalpha.
Dalpha's mission is to be a guide that helps companies and individuals who want to use AI but don't know how, and that even teaches them practical ways to apply it.
What Dalpha Wants to Build (WHAT)
We will build a sense of momentum in the AI market.
To innovate AX, Dalpha will secure a sense of momentum in the AI market.
The AI market is currently in its early stages, and I think no one knows clearly how it will unfold. (Even we at Dalpha haven't reached a clear conclusion.)
In this context, Dalpha will think hard about how the AI market will unfold and strive to secure the momentum to lead the AI market.
An AI Subscription Platform for Businesses: AI Store
After endless deliberation on what it takes to secure that momentum,
Dalpha launched the AI Store.
As you might guess from the name, we plan to build it as a marketplace similar to the 'app market' that underpins today's smartphone-centric ecosystem.
However, since the AI B2B market isn't yet active, we're still at the stage of working to form the market.
We're focusing on directly discovering demand for AI, building services, and gathering companies that need AI.
In the end, we're gradually securing the momentum so that every case of AI technology being commercialized can pass through Dalpha.
Dalpha's AI Store holds AI for "every company".
We have a wide array of AI solutions not only for e-commerce companies—such as product category automation, image/text search, and review analysis—but also for marketing, content, logistics, manufacturing, and more.
We've built a total of 30–40 solutions ourselves, solving companies' challenges around cost reduction and revenue growth.
How Will We Build It? (HOW)
As mentioned earlier, because the AI market is still in its early stages, the possible use cases for commercializing AI in the market are endless.
I believe there are surely AI needs out there that humanity hasn't yet discovered.
Therefore, to innovate AX and secure momentum, Dalpha is building the AI Store in the following way.
Discovering Needs Through AI Consulting
This is also where Dalpha can create the most value—namely, discovering needs through consulting.
We catch the parts that are done manually day after day, costing a lot of time and money, or the bottlenecks where revenue isn't being generated well, and we think together about how AI can solve these problems.
In reality, when we meet many clients, we often discover brilliant needs that even we at Dalpha hadn't thought of.
Once we uncover such a need, we keep thinking about how to solve it with AI and end up developing a single AI solution.
AI solutions that have gone through this series of steps currently make up most of the AI Store.
Dalpha can confidently say that we know the most—and the best—about the needs for how AI can be used across countless markets.
That's a brief introduction to Dalpha. Going forward, we'll work hard to share insights with many of you and to be of great help.
